The restoration of the St. John the Baptist RC Cathedral in the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey, USA, has received the 2020 Pinnacle Award for Excellence.

The award is given by the Natural Stone Institute of America (NSI) to the project that for beauty, creativity, ingenuity and craftsmanship qualifies for professional excellence in the use of natural stone.

This is one of the most prestigious projects carried out by Marmi Ghirardi – G1938 Italian Stone Maestro, based on a design by architect Arthur J. Sikula, who designed the interiors for the project.

The project makes the interior image of the neo-Gothic structure shine, linking the past and the present in an idea of stylistic continuity whose artistic value is inspired by the principles of the Vitruvian triad (firmitas, utilitas and venustas) and, thanks to which, the characteristics and load-bearing qualities of natural stone have been brought out to the full.
